Pet-Friendly Travel

When it comes time to bring your puppy home most puppies travel by plane. Air travel is one of the fastest, most reliable, and cost-effective means of getting your puppy delivered to their forever home.

Not all airlines are created equal when it comes to cozy comfort for dogs. Your puppy will fly in a safe, pressurized, temperature-controlled cabin, not to be confused with cargo! You may also elect to have your puppy flown as a carry-on with an Airpanion.

Puppies typically travel to their new home around the 8-week mark. Small breed puppies cannot leave home until they are at least 2 pounds or 12 weeks of age. This weight threshold will not be determined until the puppy reaches the 8-week mark.

Snub-Nosed Breeds

Some popular breeds often categorized as snub-nosed dogs or short-nosed dogs (e.g., American Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Boxers, English or French Bulldogs, King Charles Spaniels, Lhasa Apso, Mastiffs, Pugs, Shar-Peis and Shih Tzus) simply do not fly well as they have difficulty breathing even under normal conditions but when subjected to higher altitudes in pressurized, temperature controlled cargo holds their respiratory conditions do not respond well. If Fido is of a snub-nosed breed, he might not be allowed to fly commercial unless accompanied in the cabin. In cases like these, our travel specialists will work with you and your puppy’s breeder to determine the best way to get your puppy home.

Option One: Pet Cargo

Your chosen puppy will be shipped to the International Airport nearest to you with Pet Cargo available within 24 to 48 Hours from the adoption day, depending on the destination and current weight of the puppy. We will begin the 24 to 48 hours process once the full payment on the puppy is confirmed and completed.  For all other airport deliveries, please ask for our personal inflight nanny service. When flying with a puppy, it’s essential to adhere to and verify the airline’s regulations for pet travel, including the necessity of an airline-approved dog carrier for in-cabin transportation.

An inflight nanny is required if direct Pet Cargo flights are not available to your city. The inflight nanny cost can vary from one destination to another. The nanny delivery within Canada or the US is between $300 to $700. We are on the nanny’s clock and cannot decide on the delivery date for your puppy. A date that the nanny gives us is subject to change without prior notice. The Pet Cargo has a designated safe, pressurized, and temperature-controlled space in the plane for pets. The crate is attached with food and water access during the flight. After the flight is booked, we will provide you with full details about the shipping process and how you can pick up your puppy at the airline office location. The Pet Cargo option is the most common way we deliver our puppies, and we have never experienced any accidents since we started using this delivery method. Unfortunately, we do NOT ship to India due to the rules and regulations on dog imports for entering these countries.

Option Two: Personal Delivery

For non-direct flights or for puppies weighing 1 lb or less, the Nanny Service will require extra charges for a safe journey. It is mandatory to wait until the puppy’s weight is at least 2 lbs to fly by Pet Cargo as per airline rules. One of our caring and competent nannies will take utmost care of your puppy from pick up to delivery. This service can be booked for the puppy to be delivered to any location.  Delivery time depends on the availability of the inflight nanny. Please note that our nannies fly on standby, and the time/date of arrival can change without prior notice. Please ask us for a quote. Why does the delivery process take 26- 48 hours ? We deliver an all-encompassing quality service. This is why the health status of all of our puppies is checked by a governmental vet who will sign and certify the puppy’s health certificate, proof of vaccination, and registration Papers . The puppy’s weight must be 2 lbs to fly by Pet Cargo, and we can only book the puppy’s flight once the governmental vet has signed and certified the puppy’s registration paperwork. A puppy must be 11 weeks old to travel. Booked flights are subject to change at any given time without prior notice. The transportation of a puppy is possible via a third party (airline company), hence we do not have control over any decisions/changes the airline company makes.
